Natural Minor Scale

Scale Notes:                   1011010110101
Minor Pentatone:        1001010010101
Minor Pentatonic:       1001010100101
Blues:                          1001011100101

Is considered a Minor Scale. Also called Aeolian, Diatoniko, Nisiotiko, and Pireotiko Minore.
– Drop 2nd and 5th note to get Minor Pentatone Scale.

– Drop 2nd and 6th note to get Minor Pentatonic Scale, then add #4th to get Blues scale.

Is a mode of Major, Dorian, and Usssak Scales
– A Minor = C Major = D Dorian = E Ussak ~ A Ussak
– G Minor = Bb Major = C Dorian = D Ussak ~ G Ussak
– If you start 2 scale degrees forward you get Major
– If you start 3 scale degrees forward you get Dorian
– If you start 4 scale degrees forward you get Ussak
– Give it a b2nd note and you get Ussak in the same key as the original Minor Scale you where playing.

Is Similar to Harmonic Minor,  Hijaz, and Roumaniko
– G Minor ~ G Harmonic Minor ~ C Roumaniko ~ D Hijaz
–
If you give it a #7th you get Harmonic Minor
–
If you give it a #7th and start 3 scale degrees forward you get Roumaniko

– If you give it a #7th and start 4 scale degrees forward you get Hijaz

To Modulate to Rast, Huzam, Seghiah. Note: Definitions of Rast and Huzam vary amongst players.
– G Minor ~ Bb Rast ~ Bb Huzam ~ Bb Segiah
– If you give it a b2nd and start 2 scale degrees forward then it’s the descending form of Rast, and makes more use of passing notes, like
b3rd, #4th,  and b8th (relative to root note of Rast).
– If you give it a #4th note start 2 scale degrees forward then you get Huzam, and you can use #4th, #5th, and #6th passing notes (relative to root note of Huzam).
– If you flatten the original root note, give it a #4th and start 2 scale degrees forward, you get Seghiah, where you can then use passing notes (relative to root note of Seghiah) #4th, and b2nd (above the ovtave)

To Modulate to Hijazkiar, Nihavent, and Pireotikos
– G Minor ~ G Nihavent ~ D Hijazkiar ~ D Pireotikos
–
If you give it a #4th and #7th you get Nihavent
–
If you give it a #4th and #7th  and start 4 scale degrees forward / 3 back you get Hijazkiar
–
If you give it a #1st, #4th and #7th and start 4 scale degrees forward / 3 back you get Pireotikos

To modulate to another root note within the same scale:
– G Minor ~ D Minor ~ C Minor
– Give it a #6th and start 3 scale degrees back to get Minor with different root note but similar character
– Give it a b2nd  start 3 scale degrees forward to get Minor with different root note but similar character
